CASTING PAID ROLES FOR NON-UNION ACTORS 

Creative Quality Productions is producing a fundraiser film for Peace of Art DC, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that helps inner city youth avoid incarceration and gun violence through leadership development, job readiness training and art. This fundraiser film will help Peace of Art DC continue to serve in the community and provide a visual of ways that youth can avoid some of the traps that easily hinder them and lead them down the wrong path. With that said, we are looking for talent to perform in a non-union micro budget feature film that is shooting in the DC Metro Area June 30 - July 24, 2025. The shooting dates and total amount of hours required on set for each role are listed in the character descriptions below. Initial submissions will be via self-recorded video auditions of sides with virtual call backs via zoom (a specific time will be arranged with each actor/actress selected for call backs).  

Below you will find character descriptions for each role. Click the words, “Download Sides” below to download the sides. Email your self-recorded video auditions with your headshots, resume, full body picture of current look and link to reel (if available) to casting@creativequalityproductions.com. Please put “Feature Film Audition” in the subject line. In the body of the email please include the name(s) of the character(s) you’re auditioning for. 

Dates that fall on weekdays will always have a set arrival time of 6pm and will end at 1030pm. The only exception is July 4th, which will have a set arrival time of 10am and will end at 3pm. All Saturday dates will be full day shoots, filming during the day and evening. Catering will be provided each day.

If the words, “Rehearsal Required” are in the character description, you will be needed for at least one rehearsal. The rehearsal dates will be scheduled during virtual call backs via zoom. All rehearsals will be in-person in Washington, DC.

If you are not available for the shoot dates for a character, please DO NOT submit.   

Title: Underground King

Genre: Action/Drama

Logline: After a student from his underfunded community center is murdered, a retired boxer (Andre King) enters an underground fight tournament to raise money for the center and save his other students’ lives.

Bernard: A friend of Andre King. As a kid, he looked up to Andre and was an amateur boxer that never turned pro. He has a gambling habit that Andre has tried to help him overcome over the years. He has a way of lightening the mood with his subtle sense of humor and wants to give back to Andre for helping him to be a better man. Maya: The wife of Andre King. She is a law student at Howard University and volunteers at the community center that Andre started. She supports her husband’s dreams to keep the center open, but since her husband’s boxing career was cut short due to career ending injuries, she doesn’t ever want him to fight again. (hispanic or black female, late 20s - early 40s, 40hrs total on set, $400, Rehearsal Required, Shooting Dates: July 9, 14, 17-19, 22-24)

Drazin: The owner and operator of the underground fight club. He is a crafty business man who brings in high rollers to watch men nearly kill each other. (any ethnicity male, 40s - 60s, 35hrs total on set, $345, Rehearsal Required, Shooting Dates: June 30, July 1-5, 15)

Referee: The officiant who oversees all of the fights in the underground fight club. (any ethnicity male, 30s - 50s, 30hrs total on set, $300, Rehearsal Required, Shooting Dates: June 30, July 2-5, 22)

Eric: A student who was getting into a lot of trouble at school and hanging with the wrong crowd until he started coming to the community center. He struggles with confidence when it comes to excelling academically. (black male, mid teens - early 20s, 25hrs total on set, $250, Rehearsal Required, Shooting Dates: July 16, 19, 21-23)

Lisa: A staff member at the community center. She not only works with the students to complete homework, she plans activities and is Andre King’s assistant. (hispanic or black female, 20s - 50s, 22hrs total on set, $215, Rehearsal Required, Shooting Date: July 19, 21-22, 24)

Mike: A student at the community center who is a boxer and is the mentee of Andre. He has aspirations to be a professional boxer but he often gets tempted to get involved in criminal activity with other guys from his neighborhood. Tasha: A student at the community center and Mike’s friend. She’s an excellent student who sees Mike struggling with making better friend choices and often encourages him to stay away from bad influences. She’s also Maya’s mentee. Jackson: A mixed martial artist who is very brass and confident. A known trash talker who has a winning record in the fight club. Ableton: Jackson’s corner man who gives advice to Jackson between rounds and motivates him to victories. (any ethnicity male, 30’s - 50’s, 7hrs total on set, $65, Rehearsal Required, Shooting Dates: July 2-3)

Loman: Drazin’s head of security. He enforces law and order in and around the fight club. (any ethnicity male, large or muscular build, 20’s - 40’s, 12hrs total on set, $115, Rehearsal Required, Shooting Dates: June 30, July 14-15)

Corbin: A terrifying fighter who viciously beats his opponents and harbors jealousy toward fighters that get more cheers from the crowd than he does. Debra: Mike’s mother. She wants her son to excel in life, but often is saddened by the choices he makes to hang with the wrong crowd. (black female, late 30’s - late 40’s, 4hrs total on set, $40, Shooting Date: July 19)

Mr. Coles: A business owner who is very philanthropic. He also mentors teens and wants to see the city change for the better. (black male, 30s - 50s, 4hrs total on set, $40, Rehearsal Required, Shooting Date: July 19)

Rel: A drug dealer in Mike’s neighborhood. He recruited Mike a few months ago and sends Mike on missions for their hood. (black male, late teens - early 20s, 2.5hrs total on set, $25, Shooting Date: July 10)

Robbers: Three young men wearing ski masks who rob Mike and Rel. (black males, teens - 20s, 2.5hrs total on set, Shooting Date: July 10)
